Our Dreams for this Child

Us at Yosemite National Park

We have so many dreams for the life we hope to share with a child. We love to travel and explore new places — from weekend road trips to visiting other countries — and we look forward to experiencing those adventures through a child’s eyes. We imagine pointing out landmarks, trying new foods together, and building traditions around discovering the world as a family.

We hope to nurture whatever talents and interests naturally unfold. One of Sneha’s favorite childhood memories is going to dance classes and feeling encouraged to express herself creatively. We would love to create similar opportunities — whether that’s dance, sports, music, art, science, or something entirely unique. Our goal is to equip them with confidence, education, emotional support, and practical skills so they feel prepared to pursue their dreams.

When it comes to adoption, we want it to be a way of life. We will speak about it openly and positively from the very beginning. The child's story will never be hidden or whispered about — it will be honored. We will make sure they understand that adoption is one beautiful part of their story, and that they are surrounded by love that began long before they can remember.

Lifestyle

Our daily life is simple, intentional, and centered around togetherness. We both work from home — our desks are only about ten feet apart — and even on busy days, we pause to have lunch together. Those small routines matter to us. We love cooking homemade meals, trying new recipes, and being self-sufficient. Our philosophy is “live and let live,” and we try to extend kindness and respect to everyone around us. Sneha works as a data scientist, and Timothy is a product owner both working in the health-tech industry and feel grateful that our careers contribute in meaningful ways. In our free time, we enjoy quieter, creative hobbies like reading, painting, and completing projects from our monthly craft subscription box. We host family for biweekly board game nights, which are always full of laughter and friendly competition. Sneha’s guilty pleasure is brunch with friends, while Timothy loves building and DIY projects — his latest was building a custom shoe rack for our coat closet. We value modest living, caring for the planet, and investing in relationships. With friends across the country who visit often, and a home in a wonderful neighborhood with strong schools, our life feels steady, joyful, and ready to welcome a child.

Cultural Heritage

Our story begins in two very different places. Sneha grew up in southern India, moving from city to city because of her father’s work. Those moves taught her adaptability, curiosity, and how to find home wherever family gathers. Timothy grew up in the Midwest, in the far suburbs of Chicago, with deep roots tied to his family’s dairy farm in rural Wisconsin. His upbringing shaped his steady nature, strong work ethic, and appreciation for simple traditions.

As adults, we both spent time living in larger cities before eventually meeting in California — two different paths that blended into one shared life. One of the greatest gifts of our backgrounds is the richness it brings to our home. We celebrate Diwali with lights, sweets, and meaningful traditions, just as joyfully as we gather around the table for Thanksgiving. Our home reflects both heritage and the new traditions we’ve created together.

Blending cultures has shaped our values in powerful ways — hospitality toward anyone who walks through our door, resilience through change, and a deep belief in hard work. We are committed to helping a child understand and take pride in their full story and background. We will speak openly about where they come from, celebrate their heritage, and create space for questions and identity to grow with confidence and love.

Our Extended Families

Xmas with the Whole Family

Last Christmas was one we’ll never forget. Both sides of our family gathered for Christmas Eve at Timothy’s dad’s home, and it truly felt like the perfect blend of traditions, laughter, and love. Sneha’s sister made the drive down from Dallas, and her parents traveled all the way from India to be with us. Timothy’s two sisters, his dad and his aunt live nearby, which was one of the reasons we moved to Illinois — we wanted to be close enough to really know our nephews, from their favorite snacks to the bedtime stories, and have the support of our families as we welcome a child into our home.

At a Honey Tasting Event

The kids spent the evening racing around the house playing games, while the adults played a bunch of board games. One of the highlights was when Sneha gifted Isaac a hand-painted Pokémon shirt she made just for him. He absolutely loved it and now insists on wearing it to school as often as possible! We also squeezed in a hilarious family photoshoot with everyone, full of exaggerated poses and funny faces.

Sneha’s parents brought authentic homemade desserts that quickly became everyone’s favorite. What makes our family unique is how naturally we blend cultures and traditions. Everyone is genuinely excited about welcoming a child into this circle of love, and they are ready to embrace this child wholeheartedly.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home During the Holidays

We live in a warm, family-friendly suburban neighborhood that felt like home from the moment we arrived. One of the most special features of our house is the backyard, which borders an elementary school. From our fence, we can see the soccer field and playground, and we often smile imagining watching practices from our patio chairs one day. Our nephews already love walking over to the playground during sleepovers, and it’s easy to picture a child riding bikes on the sidewalk, running across the field after school, or making neighborhood friends. Many young families live nearby, and in the spring and fall the streets are full of kids playing, parents chatting, and neighbors out for evening walks. We are also in one of the top ranking school districts.

Our home has several cozy bedrooms and welcoming gathering spaces, but the kitchen and backyard are truly the heart of it. We love landscaping and have carefully chosen plants and flowers to make the yard feel bright and inviting. Sneha dreams of planting two apple trees someday. Each Halloween, we host a neighborhood potluck, and the local moms jokingly call ourselves the “DaLasalle Divas.” It’s a connected, supportive community where we can genuinely envision a child growing up surrounded by friendship, laughter, and belonging.

From Us to You

Dear Expectant Mother,

First, thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We recognize that considering adoption comes with immense strength, love, and complexity. Whatever you are feeling right now, we want you to know that we approach you with deep respect and compassion. We are Sneha and Timothy, a married couple who have been together for seven years. From early in our relationship, we talked about building a family, and adoption was always part of that conversation. Over time, it became clear that this was not simply an alternative path for us — it was a meaningful and intentional one. We feel ready, steady in our partnership, and grateful to be walking this journey together.

If you choose us, your child will grow up in a home filled with warmth, encouragement, and stability. We live in Illinois in a family-centered neighborhood close to schools and parks, and we intentionally moved here to be near extended family. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends are excited and ready to welcome a child with open arms. Our home blends traditions from Sneha’s South Indian heritage and Timothy’s Midwest roots, creating a life rich in culture, celebration, and strong values like kindness, resilience, trust, and hard work.

When it comes to openness, we want what is healthiest and best for your child. We believe that adoption is not a single moment but a lifelong story, and that maintaining connection can be a meaningful part of that story. We are fully committed to sending letters and pictures so you can see your child grow and thrive. Beyond that, we are open to the level of contact that feels right to you, whether that includes emails, phone calls, or visits over time. We are comfortable having honest conversations about expectations and boundaries, and we want to build a plan together that centers your child’s well-being above all else. We promise to speak about you with gratitude and respect. Your child will always know that their story began with love and courage. We will answer questions openly and age-appropriately, creating space for curiosity, identity, and pride in where they come from. We believe a child can hold love for many people, and we will never see that as a threat —only as a gift.

Our daily life is simple and intentional. We both work from home in healthcare-related fields and prioritize shared meals, creativity, family gatherings, and meaningful time together. We imagine bedtime stories, cheering at games, dance classes, art projects, and quiet conversations after long days. More than anything, we look forward to being steady — the safe place your child can always return to.

If you choose us, we promise to honor the trust you place in us. We promise to love your child unconditionally, advocate for them fiercely, and support them as they grow into exactly who they are meant to be. And we promise to continue honoring you as an important part of their story.

With gratitude and hope,

Timothy & Sneha
