Kent & Sarah
We are so thankful knowing that you are taking the time to get to know us. Undoubtedly, the decision that you have before you will not be easy and we admire your strength and bravery. We believe that adoption is a gift and one that we treasure dear to our hearts! We look forward to sharing our love and values with a child and helping them experience the world and achieve their dreams.
Our Leisure Time

We share a cozy, happy life with our two dogs, who are considered part of the family—if not slightly in charge. We love taking daily walks to the park, where the pups can run and play while we enjoy each other's company in the fresh air. At home, our evenings are filled with friendly competition over board games or card games, often with playful debates over who actually won when the other is looking up words to play in Scrabble. We are big fans of movie nights on the couch, always finding something new to watch—or rewatching old favorites for the tenth time. And when we are in the mood for a little outing, heading to dinner and movie is our go-to treat, complete with snacks and ready for the previews. It's a simple, happy life full of love, laughter, and the occasional chewed-up dog toy.
Fun Facts About Us:

Adoption in Our Family
Sarah's older sister and brother-in-law have adopted two daughters. They experienced infertility and felt that they were called to adoption. Their first daughter was born two and a half months early, just 12 hours after matching, and 24 hours after they were active. Both of their daughters are the perfect addition to our family. They have been a great resource and support throughout our own adoption journey.
Sarah's best friend was adopted. She grew up knowing she was adopted and has a great relationship with her birth parents. She always felt so special as a child knowing that she had two sets of amazing parents - her birth parents and her adoptive parents.

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a three bedroom townhouse in a great neighborhood in New Mexico. Sarah's favorite room is the kitchen, where she loves to whip up a tasty meal and dessert. Kent's favorite room is his office, where he has displayed his prized sports memorabilia.
There is a fantastic swimming pool within walking distance from our house. We also have a middle school right down the street. There are several families who live on our street and we see a lot of kids walking to the school.
We love walking our dogs, Scout and Grover, to the local park. We live just a couple miles from the mountains, which offers lots of opportunities for outdoor activities. Some of our favorite options include the tram, hiking, skiing, and the restaurant at the peak.
Our city hosts an annual hot air balloon fiesta. This is an early morning, fun experience for the entire family. We are able to enjoy hot air balloons in all shapes and sizes from all around the world. You can even ride in a hot air balloon, which Kent's dad had the opportunity to experience last year!
Our Extended Families

Kent's parents live just down the street while his brother and sister-in-law live in Overland Park, KS with their son. We see Kent's parents at least once a week to have dinner and play cards. Our most played games are spades, hearts, and tens. Kent's dad loves to play croquet and is looking forward to adding another croquet player to our family. Kent's brother's family comes to visit us in Albuquerque a couple times a year and we travel to Kansas City fairly often as well.

Sarah's parents and siblings live throughout the DFW metroplex in Texas. We drive down to Texas at least several times a year to spend time with Sarah's family. Sarah's family plays liverpool rummy on a daily basis when we are in town. Sarah's grandmother lives with her parents and we enjoy spending time with her. Sarah has a big family with three siblings. We have two nieces and a nephew on her side of the family. We enjoy roasting marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace or bouncing on the bounce house with our nieces and nephew.
We alternate the major holidays with both sides of the family. However, it is common for Kent's parents to travel to Texas to spend Christmas with Sarah's family.
Our family is very supportive of our adoption plan. Sarah's older sister has adopted two daughters. Your child will be welcomed with open arms and will be loved immensely.
From Us to You

First and foremost, we want to express our deepest gratitude to you for considering adoption and taking the time to look at our profile.
We have been married since August 2019, and together in a committed relationship since September 2017. We met online, but shortly discovered we had several mutual friends. We love to take our dogs for walks through our neighborhood and local parks, play board games, and cuddle on the couch. You will often find us catching a new movie or cheering on the local minor league baseball team in the summer. We enjoy camping and traveling whenever possible. Whether it is a beach vacation, cruise vacation, or weekend getaway, we can't wait to include a child in our adventures!
Since we were married, we've been dreaming of the day we could become parents. After years of loss, hope, reflection, and waiting, we decided to grow our family through adoption. This process has shown us just how important it is to offer your child the love, care, and support they deserve, and we promise to be the best parents we can be. Our hearts are open, and we are eager to share our home and our love with your child.
We promise that we will cherish every moment with your child. We are committed to raising them in a home filled with love, kindness, and respect. Our family values include compassion, open communication, and encouragement, and we will do everything in our power to help them thrive, whatever path their life may take.
We would be honored to have an open relationship with you, if that is something you desire. We are open to yearly visits, sharing of photos, letters, and videos on a consistent basis. We want to approach their adoption story with love, honesty, and openness. We'll create a warm, safe environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their feelings. We'll explain that adoption is a beautiful journey, one that means they were chosen and loved from the very beginning. We'll talk about how their birth parents made a difficult but loving decision, and how we, as their forever family, are so grateful to have them in our lives. It will be important for them to know that their adoption story is a part of who they are, and it will always be something to be proud of. We'll reassure them that no matter what, they are deeply loved, and we will always be there to support them as they navigate their own feelings and understanding of their story.
Thank you once again for considering us as parents for your child. We know there are so many emotions and decisions ahead, and we are thinking of you and your little one. Please know that you are in our hearts, and we hope that in some way we may be able to offer you comfort and peace during this journey.
With love,
Kent & Sarah
