Haverley had an older brother who was placed for adoption. He found Haverley and the rest of his biological family when he was in his twenties. This was such a great experience for Haverley. She learned that she had an older brother! They had a great relationship until he sadly passed away.

Crystal was raised by her mother and the man who she now calls dad. He never formally adopted her on paper, but he showed her love and stability for her entire childhood. We are very excited that he will be able to be a grandpa to our child.

In our opinion, children need love and support from as many people as possible. Adoption can give them that love. It takes a village to raise children and the love we find from our non-genetic family can be just as strong and fulfilling as the love that comes from our genetic family.

Haverley cherishes Crystal's out-going, free-spirited, and loving nature. Crystal is the type of person who can strike up a conversation with anyone. She will always make a friend at a gathering of strangers. Crystal is up for anything. She is so easy-going and free-spirited, especially when on vacation. Despite being afraid of heights, she has even paraglided off a mountain in Switzerland! In addition to all this, she is so loving. Crystal always finds the good in someone. She is empathetic and understanding comes as second nature to her.

Crystal loves Haverley's determination, patience, and easy-going attributes. Haverley is the type of person who tries to solve any problem. She takes each day one step at a time and almost never gets stressed. She is very patient, especially with animals and children. Crystal loves that she can spend so much time being diligent and then in her off time, go with the flow. Haverley is the type of person who says "yes" first whenever a new experience, trip, etc is suggested.

We are excited to raise a child of any cultural background. We are very supportive and welcoming people by nature. In addition, we love to experience new things! We love to travel, learn new languages, eat new foods, etc. We would absolutely want our child to feel connected to their heritage. Depending on their heritage, we plan to enroll them in dance or language classes, or to travel to an area where their family originated.

We have a blended family and feel comfortable navigating the challenges that can be present for mixed race/ethic households.

When helping to raise our foster children, if strangers asked about their race, we answered proudly. If the stranger seemed to be uncomfortable, we would simply emphasize how much we loved and cared for the child. 9 times out of 10, this led to the stranger letting down their guard and redirected the conversation to the positive reality - children are adorable!

We have made Arizona our home. Arizona is an amazing place with beautiful nature. While most people think of desert, (which is certainly true!) there are also gorgeous mountain ranges with snow capped peaks, rivers, and lakes.

We have a 4 bedroom home but our favorite "room" is the backyard patio! Arizona allows us to enjoy the outdoors year-round and our patio has a breathtaking view of the mountains. We have a fenced in swimming pool that we love to enjoy. Haverley is a strong swimmer and can't wait to show a child the joy of swimming!

One of the highlights of our neighborhood is the proximity to horse riding farms and trails. There are also really nice community splash pads and botanical gardens. The mountain is basically our extended backyard so we enjoy hiking and camping nearby.

The community is very family oriented and many people are bilingual. We hope that we can enroll our child in a school that encourages children to learn other languages.

We are so excited to be able to share our life with our future child. Our favorite past time is traveling. We love visiting new places and immersing ourselves in their culture. Our friends and family share in this passion. Our most recent travel was to Europe with a couple of our close friends. We plan to go to Disney World in the spring with Crystal's uncle, aunt, cousin, niece, and nephew.

For the holidays, we love to spend the evening around a cozy fire eating traditional Yugoslavian or Italian food.

Our family is so excited to see our family grow and they will welcome our future child with open arms. One thing that makes our family unique is that it is multi-ethnic including Hispanic and African American. We value the differences that make each of us unique while also recognizing that humans are more similar than we are different.

Please let us introduce ourselves - Crystal and Haverley. We have been married for 9 years, together for 11 years. We have a strong, caring relationship that is built off of mutual respect and trust. We have found our perfect person in each other and can't wait to add a child! We are so proud of the work that we put into our relationship and the depth of our trust. We know that our home will give the child insight into how to love one another.

We are some of the most hard-working, kindest, supportive people you will meet. We will be an extremely stable, loving home for your child. We believe in positive reinforcement and building others up, not tearing them down. We want our future child to be proud of themselves, not only because of their heritage, but also because of who they are. We want to have a child who is confident, strong, passionate, and honest. And we believe that this is something that comes from knowing that they are supported and loved for being themselves. We can do this for them.

We have a very comfortable life together and we look forward to sharing it with a child. We will enroll them in as many classes, lessons, etc. as they want. Haverley loves playing instruments, so we would love to see them pick up an instrument or something else in the fine arts. We both love being active, so sports or outdoor activities are something we would love to experience with a child.

Pets are important to us for one obvious reason - we work in a veterinary hospital! We currently have a small dog, a very elderly cat, and two rabbits. But ask again in a few months and it could change! We love to foster and rehabilitate elderly and/or abandoned animals. One of our favorite pets was a large Flemish Giant rabbit. We can't wait to share our love for animals with our child!

We live in a part of the country that is very open and supportive. Our local community focuses on being kind.

Your child would benefit from our love of travel and other cultures. We spend a significant amount of time traveling. A lot of people say that they don't travel once they have children. We can assure you that this won't change for us because we were able to travel frequently with our foster children! It was so much fun watching our foster baby get excited about going on an airplane for the first time!

We would be extremely supportive of your child's heritage, even if this is different from our own. We feel that the world is full of beautiful people and cultures and respect and honor those who are not exactly the same as us. We would not ask your child to fit into our "mold". We would want to make sure that your child is allowed to be their own person with their own desires, interests, and passions.

We were able to foster children and got to see what a blessing it is to have multiple people in the child's life. We would more than happy to exchange emails, letters, and photos with you!

We are excited to be amazing parents to an amazing child. We know that your child will grow up in a loving home with us. We hope that we get to meet soon and wish you the very best in your journey, even if you do not feel we are the perfect fit for you and your baby!
